SCA Training and Professional Development Subsidy Program

The Saskatchewan Camps Association believes in the importance of high-quality and safe camp programs. One of the best ways to ensure camps are running at a high standard is to invest in the education and training of their staff and volunteers. Camps prioritizing professional development and training certification demonstrate their commitment to safe operations, professionalism, and a caring community for their campers. Some certifications are mandatory within our accreditation standards and some are best practice recommendations. In both cases, we understand the financial investment it takes for camps to train their staff. We have developed the SCA Training and Professional Development Subsidy Program to help with the cost.

BENEFITS

BENEFITS

The Accreditation Development Subsidy Program helps accredited camps cover the cost of registration fees for training courses that increase staff qualifications needed to run camp programming and meet accreditation standards.

The maximum amount that can be claimed under the Training and Professional Development Subsidy Program is 75% of the course registration fee. Reimbursement per camp will not exceed $600 per year. Reimbursement will be paid to SCA Accredited Camps, not directly to individuals.  2025 Update: We have removed the $300 per person limit, so applicants may request funding for up to $600 for one person, or may split the $600 limit between multiple eligible staff trainings.

Applications for training received in 2025 are open from January 1- February 1, 2026. Subsidies will be awarded after this date while funds are available.
