SCA AWARDS PROGRAM

SCA AWARDS PROGRAM

The SCA is pleased to promote, enrich and encourage safe and quality camp experiences in Saskatchewan. We know that we are not alone in these values and efforts. The significant contributions and accomplishments of our camps come with hard work and dedication from camp professionals, board members and volunteers. The SCA would like to join in recognizing the individuals and groups contributing in notable ways to the camp industry through the SCA Awards Program.

Nominations are due March 31 annually and evaluated by the SCA Board of Directors. Awards will be presented and recipients recognized at the Annual General Meeting.

CAMP ACHIEVEMENT AWARD

This award is available to assist member camps in recognizing outstanding staff and volunteers; those individuals who served above and beyond the call of duty and are exceptional team members. Each camp may individualize this award to meet their purpose.

THE VOLUNTEER AWARD

This award recognizes the contributions of volunteers within the SCA whose commitment and service merit special mention. Recipients of this award have demonstrated significant and special efforts towards the work of the SCA in the year of presentation.

EILEEN MAYOTTE LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT AWARD

This award was created by the SCA to recognize the dedicated service of Eileen Mayotte, the first President of the association (1968-1969) and leader in establishing the first SCA Standards and Accreditation Program. Over her lifetime, Mrs. Mayotte volunteered her time and efforts on the Board of Directors at Camp Tapawingo, the Saskatchewan Camps Association, and the Canadian Camping Association. Mrs. Mayotte supported provincial camps through her many Accreditation visits, organizing and presenting at camp conferences, and providing assistance following crises.

The Eileen Mayotte Lifetime Achievement Award is the SCA’s way of recognizing an individual or group who has made a significant contribution to organized camping within our province, country or internationally that has positively impacted Saskatchewan Camps and our industry. Recipients of this award are those who demonstrate outstanding commitment, dedication, and service to the betterment of Saskatchewan Camps and the SCA.

Please accompany nominations for the Eileen Mayotte Lifetime Achievement Award with two letters of support outlining the nominee’s contribution to the provincial camp industry.
