Job Description

The Camp Director responsibilities will be:

  • Welcome visiting public, camp outs, and rental pre-post walk throughs.
  • Comfortable sharing personal faith while minstering to, leading, and forming young people in their faith-lives.
  • Love of the outdoors and simple living.
  • Camp promotion of week camp opportunity with schools and parishes.
  • Collaboratively supporting and facilitating the Archdiocesan Young Adults team offering camp week programming.
  • Contributing camp content to Facebook & Instagram.
  • Responsible for overseeing the successful execution of daily operations while meeting all code of ethics ensuring the safety and security of all onsite campers and team.
  • Developing strong team dynamics while ensuring all team adhere to Camp Lemieux policies and procedures.
  • Collaborative relationship and communication with camp cook, and nurse, as required.
  • Other responsibilities as required by the camp board.​

The Caretaking responsibilities will be:

  • Must have efficient organizational skills, effective communication skills, work effectively under pressure, and have the ability to source electrical, plumbing, and sewage system services.
  • Helping the Maintenance Board member open camp in mid-May including start-up plumbing and water wells, test sewage systems, open all buildings.
  • During low season (May-June and Sept) the caretaker will act as host and caretaker for rental groups ensuring facilities are clean and ready.
  • During high season (July and August) the Caretaker will ensure facilities are maintained weekly, including washroom facilities, grass mowing, weekly garbage disposal and general upkeep with duties as required.
  • This position answers directly to the Maintenance Board Member (May and June) and the Camp Director (July and August).
  • A valid driver’s license is required.
  • A Vulnerable Sector Check is required.
  • WHMIS, OHS Training, First Aid-CPR, and experience with electrical, plumbing, and sewage systems will be considered an asset.​

Room and Board:​ Provided during July and August
​Timeframe: 16 weeks May – Aug
​Salary Range: May-Aug weeks = $800/wk
