Job Description
Reports to: Camp Director
Role Requirements: Basic administrative abilities, Food Safe Level 1 certification, some management experience, and a positive attitude. Cooking experience and leadership skills are advantageous.
Responsibilities:
- Overseeing all kitchen operations, ensuring that all applicable Saskatchewan health codes are followed
- Menu planning for each camp session, taking into account dietary restrictions and numbers
- Food inventory and shopping list
- check out recipes and match them to what is on sale this week!
- planned use of leftovers
- Submit grocery orders each Friday by noon (Camp Director to review and submit)
- Receiving grocery deliveries every Monday (receiving, verifying order items, updating inventory, and restocking)
- Plan and lead devotionals daily with the Kitchen Team
- Teach kitchen helpers kitchen techniques and use of equipment
- Scheduling all kitchen staff and helpers, ensuring appropriate breaks are taken
- Scheduling should include when meals need to be prepared and when kitchen crew should start preparing each meal
- The Head Cook should be scheduled for each meal and given Mug Up off
- Take other responsibilities into account when additional help is scheduled (ie Camp Life)
- Clean kitchen or work with Head Cook and helpers to ensure kitchen is cleaned after each meal and at the end of the day or delegate task
- Collaborate with the Housekeeping Coordinator on chores and dishes
- Collaborate with the LIT Coordinator Team to plan for LITs to serve food and assist with chores
