Job Description
The primary role of a camp leader is to be responsible for the care and custody of children 6-13 years of age and to conduct programs for them. It is expected that leaders will work co-operatively and creatively in providing for the needs of the children in their cabins and in the camp as a whole. Where necessary, leaders may be asked to assist in program areas at the discretion of the Director or other Camp Staff. At the end of camp, leaders will participate in an evaluation, focused both on their performance and their suggestions for improving camp life.
Required Skills:
- Demonstrate maturity and positive role modelling
- Able to work cooperatively as a team with peers
- Experience with a variety of ages of children and youth is an asset
- Implement summer program as directed
- Provide support for campers to follow routines
- Supervise campers to safely engage in camp activities
- Will develop and lead a variety of activities including games, sports, arts and crafts, swimming, singing, skits, Bible study, vespers, and campfire
