Position: Recreation Program Leader
Wage: $16/hour
Term: May 5th – August 28th 2026
This position reports to: Program Director
Vacation: Paid out through bi-monthly paycheques
Job Description:
The Recreation Program Leader position usually turns into a Summer staff role for July and August. In May and June the RPL’s will work together to run Spring school programming and to plan for Summer programming. Successful applicants will be given the option to live onsite and will be responsible for their own meals. The Program Director will work together with the RPL’s to determine a work schedule and set daily tasks. The work schedule is determined by how many school groups book in the Spring. On days where there are no bookings the RPL’s will work on whatever tasks need to be done around camp. This could be anything from summer planning to maintenance and cleaning tasks.
Spring
- Leading school groups through activities and games.
- Cleaning and maintenance of the chalet, timber-frame cabins, and grounds after groups have been through.
- Assist the Program Director with planning games and activities for Summer
- Assist the Program Director with creating and scheduling social media content
Summer
- Counsellor role and responsibilities
- Assists the Camp Coordinator
Qualifications:
Successful applicants should have their grade 12 diploma, and should enjoy working with children. Experience with climbing walls is an asset. Must be between 18-30 year old.
Must get a vulnerable sector/criminal record check if hired.
