Job Description

Duties and responsibilities:

Reporting to and working with the Camp Manager, the Program Coordinator for Camp Easter Seal Connected is responsible for providing leadership and the oversight of a virtual, inclusive, barrier-free summer camp program. This includes planning and translating traditional camp program activities, in collaboration with the program staff team, to an online format. This position also ensures that the virtual program is technically sound and designed to be user-friendly for our campers. The position assists with the promotion and communication tasks to ensure optimal participation and engagement. This key staff member is an integral part of the Leadership Team and should have strong leadership and initiative skills, be a team player, demonstrate energy and enthusiasm and have a good sense of fun and humour.



Education & Experience:

  • Post-secondary educational background/experience in recreation, education, disability studies, social work, or related programs
  • Demonstrated experience in program planning and evaluation is essential
  • Formal training or strong understanding and experience in virtual delivery platforms, web platforms, media tools and communication strategies
  • Previous supervisory experience and strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Previous experience working or volunteering with persons experiencing disability
  • Valid Class 5 Driver’s license required as you will be required to drive camp vehicles


  • Ability to develop and implement adaptive program activities that meet program outcomes
  • Able to effectively lead a team of program counsellors and oversee plans and activities for online delivery
  • Strong skills in technology including digital and media tools and platforms
  • Create and promote program schedules and activities to ensure active engagement
  • Provide mentorship and leadership to program staff team members in fulfilling their roles
  • Must be able work within a designated budget; and have the ability to prioritize work and handle multiple demands
  • Understand and ensure all safety measures are understood and practiced
  • Oversee and participate in maintenance and cleaning of all program equipment and areas
  • Participate in leadership team meetings and reporting requirements
