Camp Cook

This is a seasonal position for a cook at a youth and children’s spring and summer camp mid May to late August. The Cook is responsible for preparing breakfast, lunch and supper along with a snack and hot chocolate at the end of the day. Meals will be from scratch and ready at specific times of the day for up to 140 people at each meal. An assistant will be available and the Cook may also have volunteers to assist in the kitchen. Experience working in a commercial type kitchen is an asset. Cook will also be responsible for developing a meal plan, keeping track of stock and ordering necessary supplies. The Cook must also be willing and able to prepare meal plans and meals for special dietary needs such as; Celiac disease, lactose intolerance, vegetarian diets and food allergies.
Applicants must be willing to work in a rather remote area of Saskatchewan where cellular service is not available and Wifi is limited to mainly work related matters.
The setting for this camp is in the Narrow Hills Provincial Park on Zeden Lake.
Applicants need not have professional experience but need to have food safe course and supply references. Familiarity with large scale cooking, ability to work unsupervised, good work ethic, clean appearance and responsible character are also important and desirable.

The salary is also based on qualifications and experience and comes with room and board at the camp.
